In response, the Shiyan Economic Development Zone proposed a new strategy: "walking on two legs and opening up two markets." They focused on improving modified vehicle production, expanding product varieties, and enhancing quality. They also explored new markets, introduced new technologies, and promoted the development of mini-vehicles, off-road vehicles, and intelligent cement mixer trucks.
The entire vehicle industry is thriving, and the parts sector is equally impressive. Dongfeng Bus Chassis Co., Ltd. actively expanded into domestic markets despite challenges. Projects like "DO-785W" and "90 Gearbox Special Oil" received national recognition, while other projects were included in provincial science and technology plans.
Today, the city has built a comprehensive automotive system, with the capacity to produce 250,000 auto parts and 130,000 vehicles annually.
Municipal Party Committee Secretary Zhao Bin emphasized that "to catch the automobile industry, we must first grasp the vehicle; without it, the local industry will lack competitive strength."
Mayor Chen Tianhui echoed this sentiment, stating that the city should fully utilize all available resources to promote vehicle production. Further focusing on vehicle assembly, key components, and industrial clusters will help form a more complete and efficient industry chain.
