Chicago Fire Department (IL) Mobile Rehab Vehicle
This mobile rehab unit was recently completed for the Chicago Fire Department and features a Freightliner MT-55G chassis, powered by a TQS 308HP V8 engine and an Allison 2200HS automatic transmission. The all-aluminum body includes several of their Extreme Duty storage compartments for gear storage and a custom aluminum flip-down step entry. We also added a power-retracting awning on the curbside for providing shade. A Rosco Vision 360° camera system has been installed for enhanced visibility around the vehicle. An Igloo 5-gallon water dispenser is securely mounted at the rear using a truck mount bracket.
Inside, the vehicle has a sliding cab divider door. There's a single workstation equipped with a commercial-grade cabinet that includes a dry erase board on the cabinet door. Fixed bench seats are placed on both the driver and passenger sides, and overhead ceiling grab bars have been installed for safety. The vehicle is fitted with dual Klimaire mini-split heat pump systems and ventilation fans. In colder months, a direct-discharge furnace handles the heating duties. An Onan Commercial Quiet gas generator provides ample electrical power. We also pre-wired the vehicle for communication radios.
