This is from Drew Gresik:
Hey everyone,I was at the 2-11 this morning around 1433 S. Kenneth. I arrived about 50 minutes into the incident, and when I got there, it was still a "Still and Box" situation. After being on scene for about 10 minutes, 2-2-1 called for a 2-11 Alarm due to heavy fire spreading through the building. Several units responded, including 2-1-3 and Commissioner Jose Santiago. It was also during a shift change, so there were a lot of firefighters coming in, getting suited up, and moving rigs around. One thing that stood out was the number of spare units on scene. Companies with spare apparatus included Towers 5 and 14, Trucks 26 and 36, as well as another Truck and Engine—probably Engine 109 and Truck 29. It was pretty impressive how quickly they brought in the extra resources.Just a quick note: Tower 5 was using E252 and Tower 14 was using E248. Tower 5 had backed into a vacant lot in Sector 4 and took over master stream operations for Tower 14. Squad 2’s Snorkel was also used as a master stream. Additionally, E279 was being operated by Truck 26 and was positioned next to the towers. Thanks for checking it out. Enjoy the photos!Drew Gresik
