Check out this impressive mobile rehab unit built for the Chicago Fire Department! This rig is mounted on a Freightliner MT-55G chassis with a powerful TQS 308HP V8 engine and an Allison 2200HS automatic transmission. The lightweight all-aluminum body is equipped with several of their Extreme Duty storage compartments for gear, plus a custom flip-down step entry for easy access. To keep everyone comfortable, we installed a retractable awning on the curb side for shade and a Rosco Vision 360° camera system for better visibility. There’s also an Igloo 5-gallon water dispenser secured at the rear using a truck mount bracket.
Inside, you’ll find a sliding cab divider door that separates the living area from the cockpit. The vehicle includes one workstation fitted with a commercial-grade cabinet, which doubles as a dry erase board for quick notes. Fixed bench seats line both the driver and passenger sides, while overhead ceiling grab bars ensure safety during transit. For climate control, there are dual Klimaire mini-split heat pumps and ventilation fans to keep things comfortable year-round. In colder months, a direct-discharge furnace takes care of heating needs. Powering the entire setup is an Onan Commercial Quiet gas generator that provides ample electricity. We also pre-wired the vehicle for communication radios to stay connected.
