A Version of this letter was published in Autodesk's FY22 Impact Report.

Autodesk’s journey started 40 years ago when a group of young technologists set out to make CAD TOOLS more accessible. They believed that spreading design technology would benefit industries and society as a whole. Over the decades, the company has grown significantly while staying true to its core values. Technology, when applied correctly, holds immense potential to tackle some of the world's toughest challenges—whether it’s measuring, managing, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving global health and resilience, or providing opportunities for career growth.
This mission is more critical now than ever before. Looking ahead, we face pressing issues like climate change and labor market disparities that require bold and urgent action. In the short term, global conflicts, rising inflation, supply CHAIN disruptions, and remote work trends are having immediate economic and social impacts. It’s clear that this moment demands our attention and effort. I believe it’s time to refocus on foundational principles—strengthening our communities, prioritizing resilience, and pushing for positive societal outcomes.
Last year, we introduced our impact strategy. Although we've achieved significant milestones, there’s still much work left to do. We have various tools at our disposal to address key environmental, social, and governance challenges: how we run our business, the products we offer to clients, and our collaborative initiatives aimed at transforming entire industries.

This report details our approach and achievements across these interconnected areas. Each step builds upon the last. By improving how we measure and manage our own environmental footprint, we’re better equipped to assist our clients in doing the same. Providing outcome-driven solutions enables us to support a broader shift toward a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive future.
### Enhancing Our Operations
We understand the significance of improving our internal processes to show our dedication to sustainability and foster a low-carbon, equitable future. Our Carbon Fund supports Autodesk’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions and sourcing renewable energy. Recently, we increased our internal carbon price to align with current market rates. Additionally, we're making steady progress toward our three-year goals for diversity and inclusion. To strengthen our efforts, we’ve enhanced oversight and accountability across the growing spectrum of ESG issues.
### Collaborating with Clients
As we deepen partnerships with our clients, we empower them to develop innovative solutions, integrate their data systems, and accelerate meaningful results. This helps them meet the growing demand for zero-carbon buildings, resilient infrastructure, and reduced waste in consumer goods packaging. Last year, we upgraded our platform capabilities to help clients maximize their positive influence. We launched microclimate analysis tools, digital twin solutions, and features to boost efficiency in building design and construction. New factory optimization tools were also introduced for manufacturers. Moreover, we’ve expanded our water management offerings. These advancements assist clients in mitigating risks and responding to the increasing need for sustainable practices.

### Transforming Industries
By investing in technologies that revolutionize our clients' workflows, we contribute to reshaping the industries we serve. The merging of design and manufacturing, the linking of related sectors, and the growth of our partner and developer networks provide insights that enable customers to cut down on carbon emissions, water usage, and waste. Through certification programs and advocacy efforts, we aim to create more inclusive opportunities within the industries we operate in and push for broader societal impact via the global institutions we collaborate with.
I am deeply thankful to our clients, employees, and investors for their backing of this endeavor. I invite ongoing cooperation as we continue along this path. By adhering to our values, supporting our larger community, and concentrating intently on the outcomes we desire, I am confident we’ll realize our vision of a better world designed and built for everyone.
