Alley garage fire in Chicago, 12/29/16

A 20x20 frame alley garage fire occurred on the 5800 block of S New England Avenue on December 29th. Fire companies quickly responded, deploying two lines and conducting extensive overhaul work. Engine 32 was assigned to New England Avenue, while Engine 127 took the alley and exited through the gangway to a hydrant on Newcastle Avenue. The units involved were Engine 32, Engine 127, Tower 60, Truck 54, and Battalion 16.

The fire was contained after a significant effort by the crews, who worked under challenging conditions. These photos provide a glimpse into the scene and the hard work of the firefighters involved.
