Car crash at Kedzie and Thomas in Chicago

About 3 P.M. today, on September 5th, 2012, I heard the sound of the Chicago Fire Department responding to something. I looked out the window and saw them heading in a certain direction, so I decided to go check it out. What I found was a car that had hit a street pole and then crashed into another vehicle. The power lines that were connected to the pole were down on the ground. The driver fled the scene before the CFD arrived. There was no immediate word on whether the driver was injured, but the airbag had deployed. Right after I finished taking some photos, Truck 36 left the area, and an ambulance stayed behind. The CPD hadn't shown up yet. The accident happened at the intersection of Kedzie Avenue and Thomas Street.
