Recently, a two-zone four-channel dryer developed jointly by Shenyang Yitong Venture Drying Equipment Co., Ltd. and several academic institutions, including Northeastern University and the Shenyang Institute of Chemical Engineering, has successfully passed the technology identification by the Science and Technology Department. This advanced system marks a breakthrough in China's drying technology, breaking the long-standing monopoly held by a major foreign company in the four-channel drying machine market.
Built upon previous single-channel and three-channel dryer models, this new system offers enhanced drying efficiency, significantly lower VOC emissions, and broader application possibilities. It incorporates a range of cutting-edge technologies such as turbulence disturbance, multi-channel gas-solid heat and mass transfer, modal analysis, thermal finite element modeling, and quasi-steady-state dual-zone drying simulation. Innovations include the use of turbulators, movable jaws, sleek serrated copy boards, and continuous curved copy boards, all contributing to improved performance and reliability.
Thanks to the special turbulators, the material does not come into direct contact with high-temperature hot air, preventing charring and over-drying while reducing VOC emissions. The hot air is evenly distributed and rapidly dispersed through these turbulators, lowering wind speed and ensuring full contact with the wet material. As the material moves into the second zone, the wind speed gradually increases, allowing for quick removal of the dried product. This design ensures smooth drying even for challenging materials like oil palm fibers, coir fibers, sludge, cassava residues, and potato dregs—without clogging or sticking.
The four-channel system is not only ideal for small particles such as shavings, sawdust, straw, and other agricultural byproducts, but also excels in drying fibrous and high-viscosity materials.
