In the first three quarters of this year, Liuzhou produced 1.006 million vehicles and sold 1,049,300 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 17.14% and 23.10%, respectively. Among them, the production of 216,800 units of SAIC Wuling sold 966,600 units, which increased by 14.84% and 20.67% respectively; Dongfeng Liuzhou Automobile produced 72,300 units and sold 72,900 units, an increase of 69 units. .64% and 82.11%. 
The largest pillar industry in Liuzhou is the automobile industry, and the total output value of the automobile industry accounts for 1/3 of the city's total industrial output value. Currently, there are more than 400 complete vehicles and parts companies and nearly 50,000 employees; among them, there are 9 vehicle companies, 3 vehicle chassis qualification companies, 2 low-speed truck production companies, and 4 special-purpose vehicle production enterprises. The company owns five well-known national brands such as Wuling Longba Long and Jingyi, among which Wuling's production and sales volume has ranked first in the country for four consecutive years. Last year, Liuzhou Automobile's annual output exceeded 1.194 million vehicles, making it the first city in China to achieve a per capita annual production of a car in urban areas.
The automobile industry is also one of the fourteen hundred billion industries supported by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In the recent investigation in Liuzhou, Ma Rong, chairman of the autonomous region, emphasized the need to build a Guangxi Automobile City in Liudong New District of Liuzhou and requested Liuzhou to upgrade its level of industrial development, speed up the transformation of its economic development mode, and build a scale of 100 billion yuan in automobile industry to create a 100 billion new area in Liudong New District of Liuzhou. Liuzhou proposed a breakthrough of 2 million vehicles in 2015 and 2.5 million vehicles in 2020.
