It is reported that the development of electric vehicles is a synchronous development of high-tech with the world today. In 2001, the national 863 plan divided the electric vehicles into five vehicle R&D projects. Dongfeng Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. obtained the research on two issues of hybrid city buses and hybrid cars. In the following three years, Dongfeng Electric Vehicles Co., Ltd. took the lead in driving domestically-developed electric vehicles out of the laboratories and formed production capacity.
Up to now, Dongfeng Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. has trial-produced more than 10 hybrid buses that have been in operation for more than two years, carrying 960,000 passengers. Compared with ordinary fuel vehicles, their power performance is not reduced, but they save 30% of fuel and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30%. According to research data, these hybrid buses use a hybrid-powered chassis, powered by an electronically controlled diesel engine and high-performance nickel-metal hydride batteries, and no external power supply is required for driving.
According to the evaluation of the national expert group, the entire vehicle level of Dongfeng Hybrid Power Bus has reached the international advanced technology, and some key technologies are leading the international level. At the same time, Dongfeng Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. is leading the country in terms of technology R&D, pilots and production.
Right now, Dongfeng Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. has also made new breakthroughs in self-developed hybrid cars. By the end of April, five prototypes will be delivered for trial. Previously, according to actual operation data collected, the fuel saving of hybrid cars was 20 to 30%, and the greenhouse gas emissions could be reduced by 40%.
According to the introduction of Dongfeng Electric Vehicle Company, Dongfeng Group will use electric vehicles as its own brand to gather scientific research strength and talent funds, which will take five years to focus on R&D. Now we have completed the independent design and manufacture of core technologies and key parts and components. At the beginning of this year, we basically had production conditions, and now we are in the stage of large-scale production. At the same time, a hybrid large passenger car production line is being built up and it is expected to form a batch production capacity during the year.
