Teekay's custom-made LNG ship " CreoleSpirit " recently set sail at the Daewoo Shipyard in South Korea. This is the world's first LNG carrier to load a new custom new energy-saving engine ( ME-GI ). Ship LNG ship is a series of nine LNG vessels equipped with ME-GI marine engines in the first one by Cheniere lease, expected to be operational in early 2016.
The ME-GI marine engine is designed by MANDIESEL & Turbo and is more fuel efficient and emits less pollution than other marine engines. NOx emissions can be reduced by up to 25% , and greenhouse gas emissions are more than 20% lower than normal engines. The MBS1800 sensor from Danfoss Industrial Automation ( Products Purchasing ) supports this new energy-efficient engine and can be used on two-stroke engines of natural gas and diesel and natural gas blends.
Thomas Schaukal, marketing manager for the Danfoss industrial automation marine industry, was involved in the early development phase of the new product. The new pressure sensor is specifically designed for safety applications in the supply of flammable gases.
