It was learned from the Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission that the province will build Yunnan into an energy base in China by 2015 and will focus on the construction of two coal chemical industry bases in Qujing and Zhaotong.
It is reported that Yunnan will focus on the construction of a national-level power base centered on hydropower, with breakthroughs in the construction of China-Myanmar oil and gas pipelines and petroleum refining and chemical bases, in order to enhance a solid foundation for coal development, focusing on the development of solar and non-food biomass energy. , actively and orderly develop new energy sources. It will build a national “Xi'an base for clean and renewable energy bases”, an emerging oil refining and chemical base, a new energy demonstration base, and a national “three bases and one hub” for domestic and foreign power exchange hubs, making Yunnan an important national energy base. It is estimated that by 2015, the province’s total power generation will reach 308 billion kWh. During the period from 2009 to 2015, six categories of hydropower, thermal power, power grid, coal, petroleum, natural gas, and new energy, and 16 small-scale energy industry projects will be built, with a total of more than 2,800 projects.
