Wazhou Group proudly enters the U.S. market
Targeting Major National Technical Equipment Bearings
In reality, wind turbine bearings are just one part of the broader strategy for high-end bearings needed by China's key national equipment. The state has set a goal to achieve major breakthroughs in 16 critical technological areas, and bearings play a vital role in this effort. For a long time, most high-grade bearings used in domestic equipment have been imported, leading to dependency on foreign suppliers and limitations on the growth of China’s manufacturing industry. "As a leader in China's bearing sector, we must take responsibility for supporting the country's equipment development," said Wang Lushun. "We aim to reach world-class standards, focus on high-tech markets, and gradually replace imported products with our own high-end solutions." Wazhou Group's strategy is specifically focused on the high-end bearings required for national infrastructure and major technical equipment. According to Wang Lushun, the company does not engage in competition with others in the low-end market. Positioned in the high-end segment, Wazhou targets key industries such as wind power, railways, and large-scale equipment. By closely following national policies and market trends, the company has actively adjusted its product structure to meet evolving demands, focusing on quality and innovation. Based on an approach of "introduction, digestion, absorption, and innovation," Wazhou has invested heavily in developing wind power, railway, and large equipment markets. This has helped align its product offerings with the needs of the modern industrial landscape. The group recognizes that entering the high-end market requires not only advanced technology but also significant hardware upgrades. Li Fuxin, from Wazhou’s propaganda department, stated that since 2000, the company has aimed for international standards, adhering to a principle of high starting points, strong investment, and rapid output. This led to major technological upgrades, including the transformation of railway bearings, low-noise motor bearings, and new-structure automotive bearings. During this transformation process, Wazhou didn’t just upgrade equipment; it followed the “one main line and seven synchronizations†principle. This involved aligning market development, product innovation, process improvement, and equipment upgrades simultaneously. As a result, both software and hardware were upgraded together, enabling a significant leap in the company’s technological and business capabilities. By applying this principle, Wazhou completed 20 major projects, including railway bearings, low-noise motor bearings, and large-scale turntable bearings. Its production capacity doubled, and its products met international standards. The company now operates the largest truck and car bearing production base in China, supplying bearings for heavy-duty, medium, light, and agricultural vehicles. It also introduced China’s first high-class hub wheel bearing production line, producing first-, second-, and third-generation car wheel bearings. In 2004, Wazhou completed the world’s most advanced railway speed-increasing bearing production line, achieving full automation, informatization, and standardization. This marked a milestone in China’s bearing industry. Since 2005, Wazhou has launched the Wafangdian Precision Technology and Manufacturing Industrial Park, which includes large-scale precision bearing projects. These facilities have replaced many imported high-tech products, meeting the needs of national infrastructure. Products are now exported to the U.S., Germany, and other countries, enhancing the company’s global brand recognition. The establishment of the Wafangdian Industrial Park marked a new phase for Wazhou. In 2008, the Dalian Precision Technology and Manufacturing Industrial Park was laid, expected to become a new growth driver for the company. The Mainstay of Autonomous Bearings Bearing technology is complex, requiring multiple technical integrations. Their application is critical, directly affecting the life and reliability of machinery. As a fundamental mechanical component, bearings are widely used in the equipment industry, and their manufacturing level significantly influences the overall industry. “China still lacks a strong bearing industry,†said Wang Lushun. “Developed countries have supported their equipment industries through advanced bearing manufacturing.†The bearing industry has several characteristics: it is large in scale, with annual sales over 400 billion yuan, similar to the machine tool industry. Its importance is widely recognized globally, as modern equipment manufacturing depends on modern bearing manufacturing. However, the industry is highly concentrated, with 70% of global bearings produced by six multinational companies, while China’s industry remains fragmented. Rapid host industry growth has created opportunities and challenges for the bearing sector. Compared to the speed of technological upgrades in host industries, China’s bearing technology lags behind. High-precision bearings have become a bottleneck for the development of major equipment like roadheaders, new energy systems, and CNC machines. Although China is among the world’s top bearing manufacturers, it is far from being a true powerhouse. Foreign companies still control the high-precision bearing market. Only about 20% of Chinese bearings are high-tech, high-value products, while the rest are mid-to-low grade. This leads to a massive import of high-grade bearings each year. Currently, China imports over 1 billion sets of bearings annually, with the number increasing yearly. This means a large portion of the market for host matching and maintenance is controlled by foreign players. Despite the size of this market, most Chinese bearing companies lack the strength to compete. Among those capable of competing internationally, Wazhou Group stands out. In 2008, it celebrated its 70th anniversary, having contributed numerous firsts to China’s bearing history. Former Deputy Minister Lu Yanzheng praised Wazhou as the cradle of China’s bearing industry, urging continued support for national equipment development. Recently, Wazhou has become the top supplier of high-precision bearings for major equipment. It uses the most advanced production equipment in China and focuses on key sectors like wind power, machine tools, railways, medical devices, and port machinery. Precision bearings are essential for equipment manufacturing, and Wazhou’s Precision Technology and Manufacturing Industrial Park has brought the latest production equipment into operation, elevating China’s bearing technology to international standards. The company has built world-class production lines for high-speed truck bearings and heavy-duty railway bearings, meeting domestic and international requirements. In recent years, Wazhou has developed numerous high-precision bearings for national projects, including those for high-speed railways, satellites, aircraft, and wind power generation. Some products have reached world-leading levels. Wind power bearings have gained market share domestically and abroad, while high-speed railway bearings are now ordered in bulk and can compete with international giants like SKF. Currently, 15% of Wazhou’s products are at the international contemporary level, and 48% are at the mid-1990s international advanced level. Auto and railway bearings have even entered the American market. While many companies remain in the low-end market, Wazhou has successfully moved into the territories of international giants, becoming a model for China’s bearing industry in global competition.Foil Bubble Covers,Cold Insulated Pallet Cover,Pallet Cover For Food Shipping,Aluminum Foil Pallet Cover
