Sheboygan County is in mourning after losing one of its volunteer firefighters, who died in a crash near Adell on Saturday.
At just before 4:30 PM on Saturday, February 4th, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a vehicle accident involving a pickup truck at Blueberry Lane and Pheasant Valley Road in the Town of Lyndon.
The sheriff’s office identified the driver as Ryan T. Moyer, a volunteer firefighter with the Waldo Fire Department. Earlier that day, Moyer and three others had gone out to distribute flyers for the 43rd annual Waldo Fire Department Brat Fry, which was scheduled for Sunday, March 12th. Moyer and two friends were reportedly returning from the Random Lake Pizzeria when the truck veered off the road, went through a ditch, and ended up in a field.
Firefighters arrived on scene and found Moyer trapped. He was taken by air ambulance to Froedtert Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Two other individuals involved in the crash—Nicholas A. TeBeest and Tyler J. Collins—were also transported to local hospitals. Both are volunteers with the Waldo Fire Department.
According to fellow firefighters, Moyer was known for his dedication to both his family and his community. In 2015, he was honored as Firefighter of the Year. He leaves behind his wife, Julie, and their three-month-old son.

As of Sunday morning, no official funeral arrangements have been announced yet.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the crash. Authorities are looking into factors such as speed and possible alcohol involvement.
