New area Pierce aerials

As mentioned in previous posts HERE and HERE, the Homewood Fire Department and the Hillside Fire Department both recently received new rear-mount aerial ladders from Pierce. Ryan Wyckoff was kind enough to share some great photos of both units from his recent visit to the manufacturer's facility last month. On Monday, Pierce officially released a series of images on their Flickr page, including these two standout models. The first photo showcases the Homewood Fire Department’s new 2011 Pierce Arrow XT 105' rear-mount quint, assigned to Ladder 555. This unit features the latest in fire apparatus technology, designed for maximum reach and efficiency during high-rise or complex fire operations. The second image highlights Hillside Fire Department’s new Truck 403, a 2011 Pierce Velocity XT 105' rear-mount quint. Like its counterpart, this truck is built with modern safety and performance features that will serve the department well for years to come. Both departments have been upgrading their fleets to keep up with the demands of modern firefighting, and these new aerials are a clear sign of that commitment. If you're interested in seeing more photos or learning more about these units, be sure to check out the full gallery on Pierce's official Flickr page.
