House fire in Northbrook, 10-4-16

This is a report from Larry Shapiro:

A neighbor contacted the Northbrook Fire Department on October 4, 2016, just before 2 PM, reporting smoke coming from a house at 1801 Oak Avenue. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke already visible and quickly upgraded the alarm to a Code 4, indicating a working fire. The crews managed to contain what appeared to be a basement fire that had burned through part of the floor above.

Several fire departments were on the scene, including Northfield Truck 29, Glenview Truck 14, Wheeling Engine 23, and Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Ambulance 52. Northbrook units also responded with Engines 10 and 11, Truck 12, Ambulances 10 and 11, Battalion 11, and all three chief officers. It was a coordinated effort, showing the strength of the local emergency response network.
