In April, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, total engine production reached 107,401 units, representing a 2.81% increase compared to the previous month. Engine sales totaled 114,702 units, marking a significant rise of 14.88%. Meanwhile, chain vehicle sales reached 1,156,834 units, up by 5.61%, and car sales amounted to 1,135,082 units, reflecting a 3.91% growth.
Under the guidance of several national recovery policies, April witnessed another milestone in China's automotive industry, with both production and sales surpassing 1.15 million units for the first time. This marks the fourth consecutive month that China has maintained its position as the world's largest automotive market, overtaking the United States. As the automotive sector continues to expand rapidly, it has also fueled strong growth in the domestic engine market.
Notably, April saw another record-breaking performance in the engine market, building on the momentum from March. For the first time, monthly engine production and sales exceeded one million units, with sales slightly outpacing production, reaching over 1.1 million units. If this positive trend continues, the engine market is expected to have a promising outlook in 2009, driven by sustained demand and supportive government policies.
This growth reflects not only the resilience of the Chinese automotive industry but also the broader economic recovery taking shape across the country. With continued investment and consumer confidence, the engine market is well-positioned for further expansion in the coming months.
