2SK Pump Description:
The 2SK series two-stage water ring vacuum pump and the 2SK-P1 series two-stage water ring vacuum pump—air injection pump unit are high-performance vacuum pumps known for their excellent vacuum levels, fast evacuation speed in high vacuum ranges, compact design, and easy maintenance. These units are developed according to the standards of JB/TQ354-84 (Water Ring Vacuum Pump and Water Ring Air Compressor).
This unit consists of a single-stage air injection pump and a two-stage water ring vacuum pump, which can be used separately based on client requirements.
The two-stage water ring vacuum pump or unit is suitable for pumping non-corrosive gases that are insoluble in water and free from solid particles, making it ideal for achieving high vacuum in sealed vessels.
Working Principle:
The working principle of the two-stage water ring vacuum pump is illustrated in the following figure. When the eccentrically mounted impellers (5) inside the pump body (3) rotate, water is thrown outward due to centrifugal force, forming a rotating water ring (6) between the inner surface of the pump body and the impeller. This water ring comes into contact with the impeller hub. As the impeller rotates clockwise, the inner surface of the water ring gradually separates from the hub during the first half of the rotation, causing the cavity between adjacent impellers to expand, allowing gas to be drawn into the cavity through the crescent-shaped suction hole (7) via the pump inlet air pipe (4). In the second half of the rotation, the inner surface of the water ring approaches the impeller hub, reducing the cavity size and compressing the gas, which is then expelled when the internal pressure exceeds the external pressure. This process allows the gas to be evacuated, resulting in a vacuum.

The structural diagram of a two-stage water ring vacuum pump with a capacity over 1.5 m³/min is shown in Figure 2. The longer impeller (17) and the shorter impeller (16) are fixed to the shaft (2) using pins. Between them, a shaft sleeve (20) is used and secured with a round nut, forming the rotor. The two impellers are installed eccentrically within the pump body and supported by two single-row radial ball bearings. The rotor is connected to the motor shaft via a coupling (18), rotating together with the motor. The longer impeller (17), longer pump body (9), and suction part form the high vacuum segment, while the shorter pump body (5), shorter impeller (16), and discharge part form the low vacuum segment. The outlet of the high vacuum segment and the inlet of the low vacuum segment are connected in a dual-stage tandem configuration via a communication pipe. The two segments are separated by intermediate walls (A)(7) and (B)(6), with the intermediate wall (B) having an intake port. The 2SK series two-stage pumps are mechanically sealed at both ends.
There is a water inlet hole in the high vacuum segment, through which make-up water is filled into the longer pump body. Meanwhile, the make-up water for the low vacuum segment is discharged from the high vacuum segment. For the low vacuum of 2SK-12A, 2SK-20A, and 2SK-30A models, some make-up water is also supplied from the water supply pipe but requires regulation through valves. The high and low vacuum segments are secured together with draw-in bolts. The air injection pump consists of an inlet air pipe, jet nozzle, air valve body, and diffuser.
