The diesel generator set inlet and exhaust system installation methods are as follows:

Intake system installation

In order to ensure sufficient fresh air for the operation of the diesel generator set, the inlet of the diesel engine should be located in the air circulation area outside the engine room. Diesel engine diesel engine intake pipe should avoid the use of long pipe, and reduce the number of elbows, or use a large arc transition; intake pipe inner diameter should not be less than 200mm, the pipe wall should be smooth without welding slag particles, installation should avoid dust, The debris enters into the air intake duct. At the same time, it must be ensured that the connecting line of the air filter to the diesel supercharger is sealed well and there must be no gaps or leaks. Air filter inlet should be properly guarded (such as adding a protective net) to prevent water or foreign matter from entering the interior of the diesel engine; the air inlet should be located away from various heat sources, and the exhaust gas discharged from the exhaust pipe should be prevented from being sucked into the intake pipe. . If the air filter is installed in the engine room, the engine room must have good ventilation to ensure the normal operation of the diesel generator .

The external exhaust pipe is made of steel pipe, which must be flexibly connected with the diesel engine supercharger. The internal diameter of the external intake pipe should be larger than the expansion joint, and excessive bending should be avoided; the external exhaust pipe should be firmly fixed on the hull. Vibration, its weight should not be imposed on the diesel expansion tube; expansion joints are not allowed to eliminate centering errors between the tubes.

Note: After the exhaust system is installed, the back pressure of the diesel engine must not exceed 6 KPA, otherwise it will affect the performance of the diesel engine.

The exhaust system must be able to prevent seawater, rain, sundries, etc. from entering the diesel engine. Due to the high surface temperature of the exhaust pipe when the diesel generator is in operation, the installation of the exhaust pipe should be avoided near flammable objects.

Note: In order to prevent accidents such as fire and scald, please install insulation measures on the external exhaust pipe surface!

When multiple diesel generator sets are installed together, if a total external exhaust pipe is used, some problems may arise: When several diesel generator sets do not work at the same time, the condensate generated by the diesel engine exhaust will enter the non-operating diesel engine. Internally, diesel engine parts can easily be damaged. Therefore, each diesel engine should use a separate exhaust system. If the exhaust system of a diesel generator set requires an exhaust muffler, a reasonable selection and installation of mufflers is required to minimize the increase in the back pressure of the exhaust system due to the installation of mufflers.
