The deep dewatering project of Bailonggang Sludge, which was constructed by Shanghai Jianshe Sijian Group, is currently the largest sludge deep dewatering project in China. The project started at the end of 2011. At present, the electrical installation of the engineering equipment is in place and the in-unit commissioning of the equipment within each unit is underway. The completion of the Bailonggang Sludge Deep Dewatering Project will greatly address the recent landfill requirements for Bailonggang Sewage Treatment Plant, Zhuyuan No. 1 Plant, Minhang, Longhua, Changqiao, and Xinzhuang sludge plants, and will be able to store the Bailonggang Wastewater Treatment Plant. The concentrated sludge in the mud pool is directly pumped into the conditioning pond. Sludge with a water content of 80% in the wastewater treatment plant in other central urban areas is transported to the treatment point using a special vehicle. The filtrate is diluted by refluxing through the pressure filtration, and the conditioning pond is added to the treatment pool. The conditioning agent is then pumped through a high pressure screw pump into the filter press for press dewatering. After the project is put into use, the daily processing volume of sludge will be about 1,500 tons. The dewatered mud cake can be used for direct landfill to restore land resources. Long-term deep dewatered sludge will meet the requirements of direct incineration. The incinated mud cake can be used as building materials after being treated, and it is truly green and resource recycling. It is expected that the project will begin pre-production for deep dewatering in July and will be officially operational during the year.
