Last night, Tim Olk was driving along Lake-Cook Road in Northbrook when he spotted a plume of smoke rising from a PACE transit bus parked at the Metra station. Curious and concerned, he followed the smoke and found the bus fully engulfed in flames. Upon arriving on scene, Tim quickly captured the moment as Northbrook Engine 10 responded to the emergency.
The fire had started in the engine compartment of the parked transit bus, causing significant damage. Firefighters worked swiftly to contain the blaze, using water from both their tank and a nearby hydrant. The incident occurred around 7 p.m., and no one was injured.
