On Saturday night, January 6th, 2018, the Mundelein Fire Department responded to a fire at 115 Pinehurst Drive around 8:30 PM. The incident involved a fire in an attached garage, which was already fully engulfed upon arrival. Within minutes, Battalion 43 requested a MABAS Box Alarm to manage the situation effectively.
Firefighters quickly deployed three attack lines and launched an aggressive operation, successfully preventing significant damage to the main house. One vehicle in the garage was completely destroyed, while another in the driveway suffered severe damage. The prompt response and coordinated efforts helped limit the impact of the fire.
At the scene, multiple units from different departments were present, including an engine, tower ladder, ambulance, and battalion chief from Mundelein. Additional engines arrived from Countryside, Grayslake, and Wauconda, while trucks from Libertyville and Lake Forest also assisted. A squad from Fox Lake and Countryside Chief 4100 were on site as well.
Several photos from the incident are available for viewing, showing the fire’s intensity and the firefighters’ efforts. The images include shots of the damaged garage, a burned-out car, and fire apparatus such as Engine 4317 from Mundelein Fire Department. A MESS Canteen Service unit was also seen providing support at the scene.
